What is COWPRA?
The Consortium of Western and Puerto Rico AGEPs brings together the Alliances for Graduate Education and the Professoriate in Arizona, California, Colorado, Puerto Rico, Texas, and New Mexico. Funded by the National Science Foundation, the Alliances provide programs intended to increase the number of minority Ph.D.s in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines and who pursue careers as university professors.
COWPRA members have agreed to share information about the wide array of programs and opportunities they offer. This website is the primary vehicle for sharing information among and about COWPRA universities. Here you will find the following kinds of information:
- Summer research programs and other opportunities for undergraduates and graduate students
- Links to graduate programs at COWPRA universities
- Listings of post-doctoral research and faculty employment opportunities
- Resumes of COWPRA Ph.D.s interested in post-doc or faculty positions
- Announcements about workshops, conferences, and other events at COWPRA universities
